Online resume builder — build your resume in seven guided steps

Resume Earth's resume builder walks you through seven steps: contact information, work experience, education, skills and expertise, a professional summary, an optional cover letter, and a final review before you export. A live preview of your resume updates as you type, and the score at the top of the screen shows how complete the document is.

Everything is saved in your own browser — there is no account, no login and no charge. When you are finished, download the resume as a watermark-free PDF, a Word document or a plain-text file.

If you would rather start from a design, the free resume templates open the builder with that layout already applied, and the free ATS resume checker shows how a finished resume reads to an applicant tracking system.

About this builder — what it does, who it is for, and what it cannot do

What is this builder?

It is an online resume builder: you type your history into a seven-step form and the document is laid out as you go. Each step covers one part of a resume — contact details, work experience, education, skills, a professional summary, an optional cover letter and a final review — in an order that avoids rewriting work later. The resume guidance by profession hub collects the role-specific versions of the same guidance.

Who is it for?

It suits anyone who has to send a resume and does not want to fight a word processor: first-time applicants with little history to show, career changers, and people applying to several similar roles at once. It is not a writing service — nobody else writes the content for you.

What does it do?

It turns your details into a formatted, single-column document and exports it. The summary and bullet writers can draft text from what you enter, the completeness score above the form tracks what is still missing, and the preview shows the exact pagination before you download.

What do you need before you start?

You need the facts of your own history: job titles, employers, dates, education, and at least one result per role. Nothing else — no file to upload, no account, no card. Your draft is stored in this browser, so returning to the same device and browser restores it.

How is it different from editing a Word template?

A downloaded template leaves the layout rules to you. Here the layout is fixed and the structure is checked: headings use standard names, the column count stays at one, and the export keeps the text selectable. Unlike a blank document, the builder will not let a table or an image displace your work history in the file it exports.

Where to get help, and how this page is maintained

If a step misbehaves, or anything here looks wrong, the contact page reaches the people who maintain the builder, and the about page explains who runs the site and what it does not claim. Your draft is stored in this browser, so clearing it needs no support request at all — the privacy policy lists every key involved.

What it cannot do

It cannot invent experience you do not have, and it cannot promise how a particular employer's system will read the file — ATS products and configurations differ.

The score measures the rules this site can check (structure, dates, section coverage, keyword overlap with one advert), not a recruiter's opinion. Every draft the AI writers produce is editable text and needs your review before you send it.
