AI Resume Builder

Resume Earth is a free AI resume builder. You enter your own details in seven guided steps, and the AI tools draft the parts that are hardest to phrase — a professional summary, a cover letter, a job-match analysis — from the information you supply. Bullet points and skills come from rule-based suggestions you can check line by line.

Every draft lands in an editable field. Nothing is added to your resume unless you accept it, and the whole document stays in your own browser: no account, no signup and no charge.

  • Free — no trial or card
  • No signup or login
  • PDF, Word and TXT export
  • No watermark on downloads

Definition

What is an AI resume builder?

An AI resume builder is a resume editor that can write draft text for you. You supply the facts — job titles, employers, dates, results — and the tool turns them into sentences in the register a recruiter expects, rather than leaving you with an empty box and a blinking cursor.

What it is not is an application writer. An AI model has no access to your employment history, your numbers or your qualifications, so anything it produces from a blank prompt is a guess. Every credible use of AI in a resume starts with your own detail and ends with your own review.

Where AI helps most

  • Phrasing a summary. Three sentences that say what you do, how long you have done it and what changed because of it — the section most people rewrite five times.
  • Turning duties into results. "Responsible for the team's reporting" becomes a sentence with a subject and an outcome, which you then correct with the real numbers.
  • Finding the right vocabulary. The job advert is the answer key; the tools help you see which of its terms your resume already evidences.

Fit

Who is the AI resume builder for?

It suits anyone who has to produce a resume from their own work history and would rather edit a first draft than face an empty page. The AI writes sentences; you remain the only source of facts.

It is a good fit if you

  • Are changing fields. Your experience is real but it is described in the vocabulary of the job you are leaving. The tools help you restate it in the vocabulary of the job you want.
  • Are applying to several similar roles. Paste each advert into the job match tool and see which of its terms your resume already evidences, rather than guessing from the title.
  • Write English as a second language. You keep control of the facts and get help with the register and phrasing a recruiter in that market expects.
  • Have been out of the job market for a while. You get a current structure and current wording without having to reverse-engineer what a modern resume looks like.

It is not the right tool if you

  • Want a finished document without editing. Every AI output arrives in an editable field and needs your review — the tools will not and cannot verify a claim for you.
  • Want achievements invented for you. The generator is instructed not to invent employers, dates, metrics or qualifications. If a number is missing, you have to supply it.
  • Want a person to write the resume. This is software. If you want a human writer you are looking for a CV writing service, which is a different kind of purchase.

Hiring a person instead is a different product with a different price, and the guide to CV writing services sets out what to check before you pay for one.

Workflow

How does the AI resume builder work?

The builder is seven steps, in the order that avoids rework. You can move backwards and forwards at any point, switch template at any time, and export whenever the document reads well.

  1. Enter your details

Contact information, work history, education, skills and a summary. This is the only part the AI cannot do for you, because it depends on facts only you have.

  2. Use an AI tool where you are stuck

Generate a summary draft, improve a bullet, suggest skills, or paste a job advert into the job match tool. Each tool works on the text in front of it.

  3. Edit or reject the draft

Suggestions arrive in normal editable fields. Rewrite them in your own words, correct the numbers, or discard them — nothing is applied silently.

  4. Check the finished document

Run the free ATS checker to see how the exported file reads: section structure, keyword coverage, weak phrases and missing contact details.

  5. Export and apply

Download PDF, Word or TXT. There is no watermark, no download limit and no point at which the file is held back for payment.

Prerequisites

What do you need before you start?

What you need is the raw material of your own history and a browser. There is no account to create, no email address to confirm, no file to upload first and no payment details at any point.

Have these in front of you

  • Job titles, employers and dates. The same information an employer would need to verify. Month and year is enough for each role.
  • Three to five results per role. What changed because you were there — a number, a timeframe or a before-and-after. This is the part most people have to look up.
  • Your education and credentials. Qualification, institution and year, in the name the institution uses.
  • The job advert, if you have one. Optional, but it turns keyword matching from guesswork into a comparison against the actual text an employer published.

You do not need

  • An existing resume file. You can start from the first field. If you do have a finished file, the free ATS checker reads it in your browser instead.
  • A template decision up front. Start in any template; switching later re-flows the same content without retyping.
  • Software or design skill. Spacing, section order and typography are handled by the template.
  • A work history, in the strictest sense. If you are at the start of your career, the content comes from education, projects, volunteering and part-time work — the builder formats whatever you can evidence.

If you want the sequence in detail before opening the builder, the seven-step guide to writing a resume walks through the same order the builder enforces.

Accuracy

Which features use AI — and which do not

Not every button labelled “generate” on a resume site needs a language model, and using one where a rule is enough adds unpredictability for no benefit. Here is the honest split in this builder.

  • AI model. The professional summary draft, the job match analysis and the cover letter draft. These send text to the configured AI provider for that one request.
  • Rule-based, on your device. The bullet-point improver and the skills suggester. They match your input against fixed phrase and role vocabularies, and nothing leaves the browser.
  • Deterministic. Formatting, pagination, ATS structure checks and the PDF export. These are code, not generation, so the same input always produces the same output.

Screening

Is an AI-written resume ATS-friendly?

Applicant tracking systems do not care who wrote the words — they care whether the words can be read. A parser extracts job titles, employers, dates and skills from selectable text under standard headings; it fails on text inside images, on layout tables and on two-column arrangements it reads across instead of down.

So the answer depends on the layout, not on the AI. Every template here keeps standard section headings and one reading order, which is the part of the document a parser sees first. The ATS resume builder guide explains what breaks a parse, and the free ATS resume checker shows how your own exported file reads.

Questions

AI resume builder FAQ

Is the AI resume builder free?

Yes. The AI writing tools, the resume builder, the templates and the PDF export are free, with no trial period, no credit card and no premium tier. There is no watermark on the exported file and no download limit.

Do I need an account or an email address?

No. The builder opens straight into the first step. Your resume draft is saved in your own browser as you type, so it is still there when you come back on the same device — there is no account database holding it.

How does the AI generate resume content?

It drafts from the details you enter. For example, the summary tool receives the job title, roles, employers, dates, skills and education you have already typed, and returns a short professional summary. The output is a suggestion in an editable field, not a finished document, and the generator is instructed not to invent employers, dates, metrics or qualifications. Review every line before you use it.

Which parts of the builder use AI, and which do not?

The professional summary draft, the job match analysis and the cover letter draft use an AI model. The bullet-point improver and the skills suggester are rule-based: they work from a fixed set of phrases and role vocabularies on your device, without sending anything to a model.

Will a recruiter know I used AI?

There is no reliable way for anyone to tell how a sentence was drafted, and Resume Earth makes no claim about it either way. What recruiters do check is whether the claims are specific and true — so treat AI output as a first draft, rewrite anything that does not sound like you, and keep only facts you can support in an interview.

What is sent to the AI provider when I use a tool?

Only the text that request needs. The summary tool sends the resume details listed above; the job match tool sends your resume and the job advert you paste; the cover letter tool sends the same pair. Your photo, your contact details and any section you have not run through an AI tool are not sent. The privacy policy lists this in full.

Is an AI-written resume ATS-friendly?

Parsing is decided by formatting, not by who wrote the words. Applicant tracking systems read selectable text under standard headings, so the document parses if the layout is conventional — which is what the templates are built for. AI text that a parser cannot find is the same as no text at all, which is why the guided steps keep every section in a standard place.

Can the AI write my whole resume for me?

No, and it should not. It can turn "managed a team" into a sentence with a subject and a verb, or suggest the vocabulary your target role uses, but it cannot know your numbers, your employers or what you actually delivered. Enter those yourself; use the AI tools to phrase them.

Start with your own details

Open the builder, work through the steps, and use the AI tools only where a blank field is slowing you down. The first draft takes a few minutes; the useful part is the edit afterwards.

No external reviewer has approved this page. It carries no named expert, no certification and no reviewer credentials, because the site does not hold any. There is also no sponsored content and no paid placement in a list or comparison.

Because the tools need no account, the site has no ratings, testimonials or user counts to publish. Everything here is either a statement about how the software behaves, which you can test, or a convention you can check with the employer.
